The interest of German institutions in collaborating with African partners in research and innovation is steadily growing, especially as awareness increases that technological and social innovations are crucial drivers for the development of modern knowledge societies in African countries.

The incentive award honors African researchers and their German partners for outstanding achievements in research with great potential for application, promotes the implementation of a German-African cooperation project and offers accompanying transfer qualification measures.

The Award will take the form of project funding combined with opportunities for transfer qualification as well as sector-specific regional counselling and networking with industry and commercialization partners in the African target regions.

Applications may be submitted by universities, non-university research institutions and other institutions contributing to research as well as commercial companies.

The application deadline is November 7^th, 2023.
