Call for Applications: DKA training modules in presence
The DAAD Regional Office Tunis offers on a regular base training modules in cooperation with the DAAD Kairo Akademie (DKA).
The following two modules are now available:
- Managing Innovation in Academia
This module enables participants to:
- Explain the difference between innovation and invention.
- Identify the critical aspects of a healthy innovation ecosystem within a research/ teaching establishment.
- Appreciate the role of thorough problem analysis and background research.
- Appreciate the criticality of setting up multiple connections and multi-disciplinarily.
- Value the importance of setting up proper policy and strategies for innovation.

- Competitive research proposal writing
This module enables participants to:
- Explain the concept of a competitive research proposal.
- Identify the main characteristics of a winning proposal.
- Identify the main reasons for proposal non-acceptance.
- Explain the various sections of a typical competitive research proposal.
- Plan effectively for generating a good research proposal.
- Appreciate the importance of paying close attention to the call for research funding proposal.
- Value early planning and acting for writing a proposal.

Both trainings will be held entirely in English, and a good command of English (minimum B2 level) is essential for participation.
The selection of participants is based on the quality of the applications submitted.
Application deadline for both modules: 29.04.2026
Please note that the DAAD will cover the full cost of the training course, lunches and coffee breaks, however, cannot cover travel or accommodation costs.
