Call for applications: DKA training modules in presence
The DAAD Regional Office Tunis offers on a regular base training modules in cooperation with the DAAD Kairo Akademie (DKA).
The following two modules are now available:
- Writing a Successful Proposal for Horizon Europe Program
The workshop aims to provide participants with the knowledge, tools, and practical insights required to develop strong, competitive proposals for Horizon Europe calls. Participants will have a clear understanding of what makes a Horizon Europe proposal competitive and increase readiness to join or lead consortia.
Target group: Academics from universities, research centers, and innovation-oriented organizations from Tunisia

- Proposal Writing Skills for PhD
This module enables participants to:
- Explain the purpose and assessment criteria of a strong PhD research proposal.
- Translate a broad topic into a focused research problem, gap, and set of research questions.
- Structure the main sections of a coherent and convincing proposal.
- Select and justify an appropriate, feasible, and ethically sound methodology.
- Develop a realistic research plan and timeline.
- Align a proposal with PhD application requirements and the German academic context.
- Evaluate and improve a draft proposal using a practical review checklist and feedback.
Target group: Master’s graduates, prospective PhD candidates, and early-career researchers from Tunisia

Both trainings will be held in person and conducted entirely in English. Therefore, a good command of English (minimum B2 level) is required for participation.
The selection of participants is based on the quality of the applications submitted.
Application deadline for both modules: 13.09.2026
Please note that the DAAD will cover the full cost of the training course, lunch and coffee breaks. However, the DAAD cannot cover travel or accommodation costs.
